Jordan b Peterson had called the prophet Muhammad a warlord in some of his previous videos
Mariam Webster defines a warlord as a supreme military leader or a military commander exercising civil power by force usually in a limited area.
I do not think Warlord is a good way to characterize the prophet even though he does share some of the qualities.
Hijab made a valid point, pointing out the fact that that prophets in the Bible also fought wars and they have not been characterized as warlords. But the important difference between these prophets and Mohamed is that they are not originators of a religion and their influence on the practitioners of the religion is very limited.
To me, the important question here isn't whether or not these other men were warlords but how exactly is the fact that the originator of Islam is associated with so much violence (Defensive and offensive) has influenced the state of the religion over time, till what it is today.
Lastly he made the argument that the expansion of Islam is an evidence of the validity of Islam. I think this is obviously not a logical argument, especially since the same argument can be made for Christianity.
The final part will be question and clarifications concerning things JP or Hijab said in the interview.
Thank you for reading.
Seeing that most people do not think Andrew Tate should be taken off social media, I'd like to know exactly where y'all draw the line on free speech. Or there should be no line?
Andrew Tate has been removed from multiple social media platforms for "spreading hate"
this situation is one of those in which the line between free speech and speech that incites violence, hate, and maltreatment of certain groups is blurred what do you think?
